Pride is an uplifting, funny and deeply moving celebration of solidarity, friendship and the power of community, inspired by an extraordinary true story.
It’s the summer of 1984: Margaret Thatcher is in power, the miners’ strike is dividing communities across Britain, and a group of London-based gay and lesbian activists decide to take action. Determined to support the families of striking miners, they begin fundraising — only to find themselves initially rejected by the National Union of Mineworkers.
Undeterred, the group travels to a small mining village in South Wales to deliver their support in person. What begins as an unlikely alliance between two very different communities grows into a powerful bond built on understanding, acceptance and shared struggle.
With warmth, humour and a brilliant ensemble cast, Pride is a joyful reminder that when people stand together, the strongest connections can be found in the most unexpected places.
