JAZZ BREW SUNDAY: THE SARAH HARRIS QUARTET

May 10 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

We’re delighted to welcome back The Sarah Harris Quartet to our Jazz Brew Sessions.

Fronted by Devon-based vocalist Sarah Harris, whose soulful, jazz-infused style draws on influences from Etta James to Chet Baker, the quartet brings together a wealth of experience and improvisational flair. Sarah’s career spans the Brighton jazz scene, international recording sessions, and collaborations with acclaimed groups including Urban Voices Collective and The Dap Kings.

On piano, Will Butterworth brings deep pedigree from across the UK jazz circuit, with performances alongside artists such as Martin Speake, Bill Bruford, Dylan Howe and Jeff Williams, as well as widely broadcast recordings and critically acclaimed releases. Bassist Marcus Vergette — also an accomplished sculptor — is a regular collaborator and broadcaster on BBC Radio 3, while drummer Ronnie Jones, trained by Tubby Hayes’ former drummer Bill Eyden, has been a mainstay of the Devon jazz scene since 2005, performing at leading venues and festivals across the South West and beyond.

Together, they deliver a warm, responsive and deeply musical set rooted in classic jazz tradition, with space for instinct, interplay and improvisation throughout.

Music from 12-2pm. Free entry as always, but donations to musicians welcome. Come early to grab a seat as we always fill up fast!
We are open from 10am, serving delicious home-made cakes, Crankhouse coffee and speciality teas. Wonderful cocktails and full bar from 12pm
